The Evening Reception

Our evening seaside soiree will begin at 7pm at The Midland Hotel in Morecambe, dress is smart and pastel colours are welcome but not essential.

The hotel is located on Marine Road right on the seafront, around 20 minutes from Junction 34 of the M6 and a 15 to 20 minute drive from our ceremony location at Ashton Memorial in Lancaster.

The Midland is a famous art deco building, built in 1933 and is established as a Grade II listed building, it has been beautifully restored to its former glory by developers Urban Splash and now operates as part of the English Lakes Hotels chain.

We hope that the evening will be a delectable mix of dancing, buffet and a few surprises yet to be revealed!

There is limited car-parking available at the hotel itself and along Marine Road, furthermore we have blocked off a large chunk of the rooms for those who may wish to stay the evening (further recommended hotels shall be provided in a forthcoming post), the rates of which can be found below.

- £107 per night (non-seaview room)
- £155 per night (seaview room)

Rooms are available for the nights of the 21st & 22nd May and can be booked by contacting Lindsay Price at mhevents@elhmail.co.uk or on 01524 428370 and explaining that you are a member of the wedding party.

We look forward to spending a memorable evening with you.

Location and Ceremony Details For Daytime Guests.

First and foremost we'd like to outline the details of the ceremony, which will take place at 12 noon on Saturday the 22nd of May 2010 at the Ashton Memorial in Williamsons Park, Lancaster.

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure of visiting before, Lancaster is in the county of Lancashire, within relatively close distance to places such as Preston and Morecambe (where the evening reception will be held).

Williamsons Park is situated at the very pinnacle of the city, overlooking lancaster at the top of quernmore road which leads you there from the city centre.

It is approximately a 5 minute drive from junction 34 of the M6 (Northbound) motorway, there is a pay and display car park at the entrance to the park and it is also possible to walk to the Park from Lancaster Rail Station (approx 30mins) or Lancaster Bus Station (approx 25 mins), there are taxi ranks at both locations. The walk is uphill but gives you the opportunity to see some of Lancaster's fine buildings. From Dalton Square at the front of the Town Hall, you will pass Lancaster Cathedral and, on the hill, Lancaster Royal Grammar School.

A coach is going to be organised from The Midland Hotel in Morecambe, to and from the ceremony, if you are staying in Morecambe this may be your easiest opportunity to get there and back and enjoy a tipple too! Details of this will be finalised and published here closer to the time.

Best wishes,

Dan and Elizabeth
